Dear Twenty-Something Me:
I’m going to try to keep this short and simple.
TRUST YOURSELF.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
BE YOURSELF.
EMBRACE YOURSELF.
Now that I’ve entered my thirties, I am much more confident in who I am and find myself WAY happier with myself! I spent way too many years doubting myself. I spent too long worrying about what everyone else would think of me and my life decisions.
That guy that I started dating at the end of high school? Yeah, we’ve been married for five years now and he is a wonderful, wonderful man. Don’t worry about whether or not he fits anyone else’s ideal…he’s ours!
That dorky passion I’ve always had for books? Yup, Librarian going on eight years now and I LOVE IT!! I’ve gone to a book launch at the United Nations, I’ve been quoted in book publicity, I review for three national publications, and I run a fun little book blog in my spare time. Stick with the books!!
The feeling about not wanting to have any kids? Yeah, I still catch flak for that, but you know what? People get over it. The husband and I have two adorable dogs and that is more than enough! Don’t doubt yourself on this…the bffs’ are all having babies now and we’ll get to babysit. Fun. J So stop feeling guilty for feeling the way you do.
Remember:
TRUST YOURSELF.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
BE YOURSELF.
EMBRACE YOURSELF.
You are worth it and people love you for just who you are.
